MIRDC Promotes Taiwan Medical Device Industry in Singapore, Reinforces Links with New Southbound Cou

The Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) led Taiwan dental device manufacturers to attend the 10th edition of the International Dental Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM Singapore), held in Singapore in mid April 2018. At the show’s Taiwan Product Pavilion, they came into contact with 8,000 dentists and dental product buyers from nearly 70 countries who attended the exhibition and medical conference. Taiwan businesses used an overall marketing approach to increase the exhibiting performance of the country and used the product pavilion to integrate marketing for the Taiwan dental industry while also increase confidence in and awareness of Taiwan-made products on the demand end

Taiwan products include dental hand-pieces, collagen fillings, many products developed and technology transferred by the MIRDC, such as an oral dental scanner, artificial dental implants, porcelain dental implants, hand-held x-ray devices, and surgical mallets. Eight Taiwan manufacturers participated in the exhibition, including Chang Hsin Biotech, Codent Technical Industry, Tian Shwu Company, Denracle, Coho Biomedical Technology, Acro Biomedical, Energy Resources International, and BIL. The businesses increased their participation this year through joining the Taiwan Dental Industry Marketing Strategic Alliance. It is hoped that such participation will help expand the Taiwan dental device industry into international markets and match medical device distributors in Singapore with the industry in Taiwan. IDEM is Asia’s biggest platform for dental technology and devices in terms of scale and representation. Held biennially, the exhibition combines the medical conferences for dentistry to provide medical device suppliers with direct contact to end clients, the dentists, for promoting the products. In addition, the exhibition attracts many buyers to visit and purchase medical products. This trip not only promoted Taiwan dental device capabilities, but also held matchmaking and exchange meetings with Nanyang Technological University and medical device distributors in Singapore.

Dr. Chih-lung Lin, the vice president of MIRDC said that recently the MIRDC has proactively integrated Taiwan manufacturers to jointly participate in exhibitions with a steady performance and has obtained the recognition of Taiwan businesses. Willingness to jointly participate in the exhibition has also increased. The MIRDC has been dedicated to the medical device industry for 10 years. In addition to helping traditional industries in Taiwan to complete industrial transformation to manufacturing high quality products by development of metal materials and strength of manufacturing process, the MIRDC also assists Taiwan manufacturers to become more competitive on the marketing side by establishing industry clusters and own brands and exploring international businesses opportunities.
