MIRDC Leads to Seek Business Opportunities at the 2017 IDS in Cologne


With hard work, Taiwan’s dental material industry has gradually made itself and its developments known in the international market. The new government is actively promoting the nation’s digital dental industry and trying to transform Taiwan into a biotechnology/pharmaceutical development center for the Asia Pacific region. One of the most effective way in gaining international exposure and increasing visibility is to participate in exhibitions. The world’s largest dental industry event is the International Dental Show (IDS) held in Cologne, Germany. Taking 2015 for example, there were over 2,201 vendors from 151 different countries participated in the exhibition, which attracted 138,500 visitors. In 2017, MIRDC led a coalition of domestic dental industry vendors in participation of the 37th IDS (IDS-2017).

MIRDC has been commissioned by the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA, to implement the Niche Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical Industry Guidance and Internationalization Plan. Dr. Lin Chih-Lung, the Vice President of MIRDC has headed the R&D team and led 15 Taiwan dental medical equipment manufacturers (Saturn Imaging, Energy Resources Co.Ltd, Quen Lin Instrument, Rolence Enterprise, Sync Vision, Hann Ru Co., EPED Inc., Huang Liang Biomedical, Arix CNC Machines, TS Dental PMMA, Acro Biomedical, Sunmax Biotech, TDS biotech, Jindell Medical Instruments, Codent Technical Industry, and Toshin) to in participation of the exhibition. This group represents the best of MIT products, and the group participated in the exhibition under the national pavilion to market Taiwan’s medical equipment and products internationally. This can help Taiwan’s dental industry cross over into the international market and increase interaction with foreign manufacturers which improves the competitiveness.

In recent years MIRDC has actively gathered domestic operators to participate in exhibitions, which has produced significant results. The participation of the previous IDS in Cologne, Geremany (which is a biannual exhibition) has produced a large number of orders for Taiwan vendors. This year, domestic dental equipment manufacturers and dental clinicians were matched together in a “dentist experience marketing format” to increase the trust of clinical doctors toward Taiwan medical equipment and products which would create business opportunities for Taiwan medical materials. During this years’s IDS MIRDC invited local European channel operators to participate in the Kaohsiung Night organized by the Kaohsiung City Government so that more international professional personnel can get to know Taiwan and MIT dental products.

MIRDC has crossed into the medical materials market for 11 years. In addition to using our metal development and production knowhow to guide transformation of Taiwan’s traditional industries so that more high value products can be produced. MIRDC has also built industry settlements, established brands, and pioneered/marketed the international market. The objective is to improve industry competitiveness. With MIT excellent quality brand of the domestic dental stability and stability of the strength, We are confident to win a battle in the field of up to 100,000 global buyers from the exhibition.
