With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the DOIT, Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Taiwan University and MIRDC jointly host the World Congress on Micro and Nano Manufacturing at the Kaohsiung Garden Villa from March 27 to the 30th. Three experts from different fields of micro manufacturing are invited to introduce and analyze the development and trends of related technologies in different countries. In addition, 17 topic discussions with a total of 114 theses are published. This congress attracts nearly 150 guests from 17 countries to join.
This world congress is the first one in history to combine the three most important international conferences on micro and nano manufacturing technology, including America’s International Conference on Micro Manufacturing (ICOMM), EU’s Multi-Material Micro Manufacture (4M), and Japan’s International Forum on Micro Manufacturing (IFMM). By gathering micro manufacturing experts around the globe, this congress has become the best platform for Taiwan and international experts from different fields to exchange and share experiences, as well as for cultivating international cooperation.
The WCMNM is the biggest event in international micro manufacturing in 2017, and is also the joint achievement of cooperation among Taiwan’s industry, official, and academic sectors (including National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Chung Yuan Christian University, National Chung Hsing University, and National Sun Yat-sen University). In addition to theses publishing, small exhibits are also set up at the congress. Experts from different countries attending the congress are also invited to visit MIRDC, the itinerary includes tour of its micro fabrication laboratory and the electron beam additive manufacturing laboratory (one of the best laboratories in their respective field in Asia) funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Relevant discussions are held to deepen international technology exchange, which will facilitate Taiwan’s micro manufacturing development and research results onto the international stage.
