The Metal Industries Research & Development Centre said, in ECFA agreements, the grouper, tuna category, mullet, saury and milkfish are nominated in the Early Harvest List, it is tax free to export these aquatic products to China. To catch the chance and increase the constructive competitive of those fishes which are in the Early Harvest List and other farmed fishes, the fishermen need quality aquatic feed to promote rapid and healthy farmed fished growth. But Taiwan is facing a problem of relocation of aquaculture and economic depression, lack of the source of High quality protein and the competition of China low-priced merchandise that emerged from the late ECFA times. These problems need to be upgraded by transforming the feed industry to improve the competitiveness and create higher benefits.
In order to help domestic feed industry, DOIT of MOEA (Department of Industrial Technology of Ministry of Economic Affair) promotes the existing or emerging local cultural industry tribe, especially assigned the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre to Southern Taiwan Alliance of Research & Scholars and held the Aquaculture feed industry clusters R &D alliance signing ceremony in Kaohsiung headquarters the other day. The industry alliance is formed with five Southern aquatic feed companies. (Chang Long, Jeng Hao, Hsiang Pu, Yun Wei and His Te)
