Since 2005 MIRDC has been working on developing slim motors, microdrive systems and related applications. Now its R&D team has rolled out a motor that features a quartdruple-magnet design, first of its kind in the world, which was inspired by the most-advanced slotless core structure. Also newly launched is a microdrive system, developed under another project, which comprises forged metal components of 0.12mm-modulus, 2mm-size micro-gears by leveraging MIRCD’s strength in precision forming. Currently, gear assemblies are possible for up to five-stage planetary reducers with a max. speed-reduction ratio of 1024:1, and their applications can be widely found in artificial prostheses, micro robots, tech toys, medical assistive devices, small electric hand tools.
