China Petroleum Company and MIRDC signed an agreement on Green-energy Technology R&D Strategic Alliance that involves collaborative development of green technologies of biomass, hydrogen, and solar energies to effectively improve carbon reduction benefits and promote development of the energy industry. An initial 4-year project is expected to start in 2011 to accelerate the development and industrialization of next-generation biomass energy technologies under this partnership that brings together MIRDC’s technology platform that features high-pressure, high-temperature facilities and CPC Refining & Manufacturing Institute’s core technologies in biomass cultivation, biomass fermentation, simulation and design of production processes, analysis and testing. Through this joint project, CPC aspires to gain access to green-energy lab facilities at lower costs and within shorter time line to pace up its R&D of new energy technologies, thereby laying a foundation for CPC’s new energy business.
