Bureau of Standard, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) and MIRDC have formed a partnership by establishing a testing laboratory for mid & small-sized wind turbine systems to provide the industry with services of testing and verifying wind turbines at a platform up to international standards. On 26 March, a ceremony, chaired by MOEA Deputy Minister was organized at Cigu salt farm to commemorate opening of the lab and signing of MOU. This lab will function as a testing wind farm of the German verification institute TUV NORD in the Asia Pacific region to perform testing and verification of wind turbine products from Taiwan and other countries. Its presence will expedite the process of securing international certifications for the domestic industry, thus shortening time to market for Taiwan’s wind turbine products by saving the costs and time for testing and verification.
