To facilitate materials used by electronics parts and auto parts industries free from dilemma of complete reliance on import for long term, MIRDC applies science & technology R&D capabilities, sponsored by Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs, to successfully breed two emerging industries-super precision wire industry and precision clad rolling material industry.

Vice President, Dr. Paul Chung, general project manager of science and technology project indicates that emergence of super precision wire and precision clad rolling material industries can decrease imported reliance at NT$1.6 billion for electronics and auto parts industries in the preliminary stage and bring about input of 65 makers from traditional industries through upgrading and transformation. Among which 55 makers are classified as small & medium enterprises with total invested amount of NT$2 billion and production value of NT$4.3 billion. However production value estimates to be NT$13 billion in the upcoming three years. These two emerging industries will bring vitality to economy and traditional industry makers in Taiwan
