The laboratory for the micro mold and forming has been established at MIRDC in 2005. The laboratory includes the ultra precision machining machine, micro electro-discharge machining machine, micro punch machining machine, electron beam polishing machine, ultra-precision stamping press, micro-cassette change former and the sub-micron large area mold measurement equipment that are equipped with machining capability of mold and die in axial symmetry.
In 2006, MIRDC sets up micro machining center and installs the micro wire-EDM machine, laser-machining machine, and micro ultrasonic machining machine. Currently the laboratory is capable of machining, forming and inspection of the various materials and provides the required technical capability in the development of micro parts for industrial and academic sectors.
Taking the micro electro-discharge machining technology as an example, MIRDC is able to do the machining of micro level at lowest cost and complicated shape (2D~3D). In line with domestic EDM equipment manufacturers, MIRDC conducts the development of: 1. Discharges circuit design and the movement control. 2. The design and development of the movement platform. 3. The design and development of the bulk machine. 4. The process and innovative applications to achieve the high precision level and the application of the micro forming technology.
