At present the domestic automobile structural and chassis parts are produced in the traditional way, combination of sheet stamping and welding. However this traditional production method cannot achieve the purpose of lightweight. MIRDC has been proactively devoted to the research of automotive lightweight related technology for many years, for example, the front Cross-member support uses tube hydro forming technology, is made in one piece and is equipped with high dimensional stability and rigidity. The whole processing procedure shortens more than 4 steps to reduce the processing cycle and production cost in achieving the purpose of lightweight. Additionally, the successful development of vehicle radiator support generates the benefit to reduce more than 15% of weight. At the same time, MIRDC establishes the concurrent developing technology of the related products and obtains many related patents. Furthermore, MIRDC proactively combines the domestic manufacturers from material (steel plate), tube manufacturing, forming technology, the sub-systematic and systematic factories to conduct the integration of upper stream, mid stream and downstream industries with hope of assisting Taiwanese automotive industry to develop the lightweight parts, equipped with competitive niche.
