Over hundred fasteners manufacturers discussed about the essence of high class surface treatment

To assist domestic fasteners industry enter the international market at higher unit price, the Innovation Incubation Center of MIRDC held the Seminar of High Quality Surface Finishing for the Worldwide Automotive and Construction Markets under the supervision of Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, MOEA with enthusiastic participation from over hundred domestic manufacturers. Mr. Sun-Quae Lai, Director General of Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, MOEA joined the seminar to express his appreciation toward Innovation Incubation Center of MIRDC for its endeavor in providing the assistance to domestic fasteners manufacturers.
Fasteners or components for automotive and industry are the largest export items for Taiwan and they are usually OEM orders. Fasteners or components complete the subsequent surface treatment overseas and are delivered to final customer for assembly at higher unit price. Since global automotive and construction markets have experienced the changes, the leading international manufacturers proactively make adjustment to put Asia Pacific region as top priority for integrating or setting up their supply chains. This action demonstrates an important opportunity for domestic related industries to remarkably upgrade their market level and value. To facilitate fasteners related industries realize the market trend and opportunity, the Innovation Incubation Center of MIRDC held the “Seminar of High Quality Surface Finishing for the Worldwide Automotive and Construction Markets” at the end of February.
The seminar invited PPG (Alltech) and Modern Plating which are makers with fully qualified global automotive accreditation to provide their strategic suggestions on introduction and establishment of surface treatment industry for automotive and construction industries and integration of supply chains for domestic upstream and downstream industries. Meanwhile opinions and discussion are exchanged between the related governmental departments and domestic leading fasteners manufacturers. Dr. Michael Fu, Director of the Innovation Incubation Center of MIRDC indicated that the seminar provided an opportunity for interaction and exchange between leading international manufacturers and domestic related fasteners makers to further increase the realization of Taiwanese fasteners industry and assist domestic manufacturers to explore the international market. Additionally PPG (Alltech) and Modern Plating set up the surface finishing plant (Alltech Taiwan) for automotive fasteners/components and plating plant (Modern Plating Asia Pacific) separately in southern part of Taiwan. Plant establishment of these two companies will certainly pose its influence on integration of domestic supply chain and successful exploration of global automotive and construction markets.
