With die of precision electroforming Ni-Co alloy, MIRDC creates the bright future for domestic precision mold & die industry

Since precision electroforming process is equipped with the advantages, including size of high precision, excellent surface quality and simple equipment investment, it therefore becomes one of important manufacturing methods to produce precision opto-electronics components, MEMS products, mechanical components & parts and metal die. MIRDC has successfully developed the manufacturing process of precision electroforming Ni-Co alloy to increase the mechanical property of workpiece: tensile strength can reach 1000~1100MPa and hardness value can reach 450~500 Hv to effectively increase product life and expand the electroforming application field.

MIRDC indicates that application of precision electroforming process in the related mold & die and parts industries experiences the rapid growth for the last few years. Without affecting the existing design, the current R&D is focused on the improvement of insufficient mechanical property for electroforming alloy material in the precision electroforming process through selection of proper Ni-Co alloy. In the future, continuous R&D will put on super large size Ni-Co alloy metal die and Ni-Fe alloy precision electroforming process with low thermal expansion to expand its application of precision die for opto-electronics industry, including light guide plate mold and LCD back light module
