News of 4th Asia-Pacific Forum on Precision Surface Finishing and Deburring Technology

The 4th Asia-Pacific Forum on Precision Surface Finishing and Deburring Technology has been successfully held at Feng Chia University, Taichung from June 6-8, 2005, with 65 participants from nine countries(Japan, Korea, U.S.A., Singapore, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Malaysia and Taiwan), organized by Metal Industries Research Development Centre and College of Engineering, Feng China University.

In this Forum, 45 papers from nine countries were presented in several session covering a range of topics dealing with burr formation, burr minimization, deburring technologies, edge finishing technologies, surface finishing technologies, surface coating technologies, micro fabrication technologies, inspection and quality issues in precision manufacturing, process planning for surface and edge quality control, standards for edge finishing and surface quality, machine tool design and enhancement for edge quality control, tool design and materials issues, conventional and advanced manufacturing processes. Additionally Forum has been served as a venue for discussion and problem solving from research, academic and industrial sectors.
