MIRDC showcases hydrogen energy technology achievements by forming a hydrogen energy supply chain to accelerate Taiwan’s industrial development

MIRDC solemnly held the "Hydrogen Energy High-pressure Storage and Transportation and Industrial Combustion Technology Seminar" at the Traditional Industries Innovation Center, which was guided and subsidized by the Industrial Technology Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to respond to the trend of net-zero carbon reduction and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Industries of various countries will face the need for low-carbon transformation. Because sectors in multiple countries will meet the need for low-carbon transformation, this seminar demonstrates the staged technological development capabilities of MIRDC's hydrogen combustion industrial application and transmission and storage technology to those manufacturers who are members already in the alliance. It connects the domestic hydrogen energy supply in a series of chains, jointly promoting the establishment hydrogen energy combustion industrial demonstration sites and accelerating the development of hydrogen energy industrialization in Taiwan. This seminar also includes the publication of technical results, which mainly focus on the industrialization promotion of hydrogen energy in independent technologies. By introducing MIRDC's research results in high-pressure gas hydrogen storage and transportation technology and mixed hydrogen combustion industrial application technology. and inviting the manufacturers of the Hydrogen Energy Alliance to participate in accelerating the development of these critical technologies and promoting practical applications.

Chih Lung Lin, the Vice President of MIRDC, stated that this seminar invited Sung Hsing Enterprise Ltd, Yean Hern Corp, Bronkhorst Taiwan, Yokogawa Taiwan, Yiu Hwa Engineering Co., Ltd, and MIRDC to sign a memorandum of alliance cooperation to establish a hydrogen energy application demonstration field and industrialization. MIRDC launched the Hydrogen Energy Combustion Industrial Application and High-Pressure Transmission and Storage Technology Alliance to promote the development of Taiwan's hydrogen energy industry in March 2023. The alliance comprises various forces from industry, academia and research institutions. Regular manufacturer exchange activities and sharing international trends in the hydrogen energy industry promote the development of technology and the practical application of the hydrogen energy industry.

The day's event was combined with the Sino-Japanese Modern Engineering and Technology Symposium, and two internationally renowned scholars from Kyushu University and Tokyo Institute of Technology were invited to MIRDC for technical and engineering exchanges between Taiwan and Japan. The two experts shared hydrogen energy storage, transportation and combustion. The technical speech activities also made alliance manufacturers say they benefited greatly. At the same time, the highlights of MIRDC's current hydrogen energy technology and new knowledge and practices of international benchmarks would help the participants realize the value of 1+1>2. Taiwan will make more feasibility and contributions in the field of hydrogen energy to discover a sustainable energy future. The successful promotion of the alliance also represents the positive development of Taiwan's hydrogen energy industry, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the hydrogen energy industry's foundation.
