Taipower met certification requirements and was awarded by MIRDC an ISO 45001 certificate

Our country has placed more emphasis on occupational safety and health issues in recent years. This has prompted enterprises to deliberate on the ways to create a safe, healthy, and comfortable workplace and constantly strive to reduce workplace hazards and maintain physical and mental health in the workplace. In June, Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) successfully obtained ISO 45001 certification, an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. A certificate awarding ceremony was solemnly held at a conference room in the Taipower headquarters on September 24th. Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, chairman of MIRDC, presented the certificate to Bin-Li Chung, Taipower President, in recognition of the company’s efforts to lead by example and inspire other institutions.

Taipower indicates that it has long been promoting occupational safety and health among its employees. It has also set up a very sound and solid system in terms of safe operations, protective gear management, accident response, etc., and established various regulations that cover all the aspects in a comprehensive manner, with people’s lives as of utmost importance, occupational safety as the top priority, and zero hazards in the workplace as the goal. In addition to fostering talents, Taipower considers maintaining occupational safety as a key element of sustainable talent development. To prevent any occupational accidents from resulting in unstable power supply and other impacts, Taipower has listed “ensuring occupational safety” as one of its eight overall strategies. Taipower anticipates to create a culture where everyone is responsible for maintaining occupational safety, so as to truly protect the health and safety of all its employees, partners, and contractors.

Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, chairman of MIRDC, pointed out the considerable attention that Taipower has paid to occupational safety. He added that obtaining the ISO 45001 certification is only the beginning. As a professional, independent third-party certification body, MIRDC will help clients continue promoting occupational safety and health management, thus improving workplace safety, the quality of their services, and efficiency.
