In view of Taiwan's mold & die industry is sophisticated technology, the quality and the price are competitive. The Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs entrusted Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) to build the "Demonstration site of intelligent manufacturing of stamping die industry" in order to move towards the goal of smart manufacturing, providing site visits for three major goals: value-heightening of products, manufacturing intelligence and digital management. Services include learning, high-value die development, OEM for parts, and smart manufacturing technology counseling. There was an inauguration ceremony and brief introduction for the demonstration site held on the 29th of November. Mr. Shang-Chun Chang, the Chief of Industrial Development Bureau, Mr. Kuo-Lin Chang, the Vice president of Taiwan Mold & Die Industry Association, and the representatives of SEYI PRESSING AHEAD, HIWIN, EJEE PRESSING DIES INDRSTRY, VAN GUARD MOLD, and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology were invited to participate in the gathering. With the participants from industry, official, academic and research sectors, it is more likely to assist the industrial development of intelligent manufacturing technology.

In recent years, the mold & die technology in Japan and South Korea has continued to improve, and the mold & die development in China, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries has not been interrupted. At present, in addition to the existing technology and current customers in Taiwan, we need to continue to improve the mold & die development technology and production capacity to enhance international competitiveness. With the support of The Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, "Demonstration site of intelligent manufacturing of stamping die industry" was found by MIRDC, the internal equipment of the site is all domestically produced, including servo press, automated robot arms, 3D scanning devices, etc. At the same time, the establishment of cloud production information platform, intelligent virtual die test and die development database, online die monitoring and other smart manufacturing systems became the cooperative R&D base of industry, official, academic and research sectors.

The Industrial Development Bureau indicated that the demonstration site will play a leading role and continue to lead Taiwan's mold & die industry and machinery industry to form a "National Team", and together to play the "World Cup" for the metal processing manufacturing industry to win more foreign orders. As MIRDC has been deeply involved in the mold &b die industry for a long time, and has multi-system integration technology. It can guide manufacturers to upgrade and transform according to the specific needs of customers in promoting Taiwan's mold & die and machinery industries to hit a new peak.
