According to United Nations statistics, in 2017, the global population over 60 years old was 962 million, accounting for 13% of the global population. The United Nations estimates that by 2050, the world's population aged 60 and over will reach 2.1 billion, accounting for about 25% of the global population, which will drive the global demand for medical devices to continue to grow. According to BMI Research's research report, the global medical device market in 2017 was approximately US$359.8 billion, and is expected to grow to US$425.3 billion in 2020. The compound annual growth rate for 2017-2020 is approximately 5.7%. Such data also shows that manufacturers of Taiwan would increase the demand for users. It is more likely to develop suitable products to meet regional needs in order to seek more business opportunities.
