Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanical – Electrical Enterprise (HAMEE) and 11 member manufacturers visited MIRDC for exchanging experiences as well as having business negotiation with the manufacturers in Kaohsiung. MIRDC has been cooperated with the government in the New Southbound Policy and facilitated the New Southbound Integrating Platform that aims at industry development, assisting in expanding the new southbound markets since 2016. Many MOU were signed previously, and actual bilateral collaborations have been promoted, which is highly recognized in Vietnam.
HAMEE is an organization of electrical machinery industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, aiming at promoting electrical machinery industry development as well as technological R&D capabilities and taking improving local economy as its primary mission. Last year, the Vice Chairman of the Association, and Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, Chairman of MIRDC, signed an MOU. Both parties exchanged and negotiated upon the training of professionals as well as industrial information. In terms of technological R&D, they focused on metals with high added value as well as collaboration of relevant areas. This year, the Association visited Kaohsiung once again, and the members included manufacturers from machine tool industry, electrical equipment industry, metal processing industry, and relevant component industry. HAMME was engaged in substantial collaboration exchanges with Kaohsiung manufacturers and hoped to act as the agent of products from Kaohsiung through technological exchanges or patent authorization in order to facilitate business opportunities.
Dr. Chiu-Feng Lin, the President of MIRDC, stated that MIRDC has cooperated with the government to promote the New Southbound Policy, focusing on the industry promotion alliances, think tank alliances, and industry-university talents alliances and assisting manufacturers in Taiwan to collaborate with enterprises in Vietnam. Through the assistance of academic sector, MIRDC contacted the talent pool in Southeast Asia, and invited research experts from Southeast Asia to constitute the New Southbound Think Tank, providing researches on industry trends. In terms of industry promotion, MIRDC had once assisted domestic excellent dental products and manufacturers to compose of the integrated service digital dental system, marching to the foreign markets.
In the future, MIRDC will take the New Southbound Policy as the deployment and integrate the resource platforms, leading industries in southern Taiwan to create business opportunities in new southbound markets. Vietnam is now proactively promoting industry 4.0 as well as relevant technologies and applications. The R&D capability and enterprise services of MIRDC have been recognized in Vietnam that will play an important role in the subsequent bilateral policy link and industry promotion, assisting industries in Taiwan to develop Vietnam markets and leading them to the stage of global competition. Therefore, HAMEE stated that it hoped to continue the interaction with MIRDC, and co-assist in the bilateral enterprise collaboration, longing for excellent results in industry collaboration, technology exchange, and talent training.
