To help upgrade Taiwan's agricultural industry and to step into the development of natural health supplements and cosmetic products, the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) and Namchow Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd. inked a memorandum of understanding on Oct. 26th. The document was signed by MIRDC Chairman Ren-yi Lin and Namchow Group Chairman Alfred F.L. Chen. Both parties agreed to collaborate closely on the refinement of natural materials and the development of high value products. In the future, the focus will be on developing high-value products employing Taiwan's unique agricultural produce and promoting them to the global market. Together, the parties will seek out new cooperation opportunities and innovative applications for Taiwan’s “six-level” industries.
MIRDC Chairman Ren-yi Lin noted that Natural Product innovation Laboratories (NPiL) is a sub-brand founded by MIRDC at the Chiayi Industry Innovation and Research Center of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Through the rich and precise R&D capability of NPiL, combined with Namchow's dedication and passion for eco-friendly products and natural organic cosmetic products, both parties will join hands in the development of health supplements and cosmetic products based on Taiwan’s local ingredients. In 2017, we expect to work on developing a series of cosmetic products based on the health effects of Taiwan’s Antrodia Cinnammea to help establish a private cosmetic brand for the international market. We look forward to closer collaboration between the two sides with the signing of the MOU, hoping to promote Taiwan's unique health supplements to the world.
NPiL provides technical services, including the development and manufacturing of new products, certification of ingredients and their effects, the parameter optimization of the production process for natural organic ingredients and solid dosage forms, and whole plant and production line planning and marketing campaigns. It also includes four major complete product development and pilot/mass production factories, such as an ingredient pre-processing plant, extraction/separation/purification plant, powder and coating plant, and comprehensive experiment plant. Furthermore, it has successfully assisted and developed beauty care products employing local natural ingredients such as cypress, agilawood oil, black fungus, and honeysuckle moisturizer series. Also, through the establishment of speedy pilot/mass production service platforms, NPiL offers the pilot/mass production and commercialization research on health supplements and cosmetic products by improving the extraction process of natural functional components of agricultural, fishery, and livestock residues to maximize their value through reuse.
