Bosch Rexroth, TOWA, and other Russian, Japanese, German, French, and Dutch international makers and research units were invited to the event, where the latest international semiconductor developments, overseas collaboration, and technology strategic integration and applications were shared.
Four seminars related to semiconductor production were arranged for this event, including the international Silicon Valley seminar, the European seminar, the German seminar, and the Japanese seminar. One-on-one maker interactions were arranged afterwards to create possible cooperative opportunities.
On the same day, MIRDC also signed a cooperation agreement with the Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation. Dr. Jen-yi Lin, MIRDC Chairman, signed the MOU where both parties promise to provide mutual assistance for supporting the related activities of semiconductor equipment and medical device industries.
MIRDC Chairman Dr. Lin indicated that the Okinawa special economic zone is the only special economic zone in Japan, and enjoys a special tax-free preference for local production and is part of the Japanese FTA. In the future, both parties can engage in complementary industries regarding each other’s strength. The geographical advantage of the Okinawa special economic zone and the Japanese FTA network can be effectively used to conduct Taiwan-Japan cooperative marketing.
MIRDC’s Medical and Optoelectronic Equipment Department director, Dr. Chun-Sen Wu, indicated that a total of 16 top Taiwan makers with international development capability participated in the event, including MIC, Contrel Technology, Kinik Company, ENR, Gallant Precision Machining, Shuz Tung Machinery, NPMT, and ProbeLeader. Overall, 200 people participated in the seminars and the business matching/technology exchange activity. Participants also witnessed the MOU signing between the MIRDC and the Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation, where both parties promise to collaborate in the related activities of semiconductor equipment and medical device industries.
