The MIRDC (Metal Industries Research & Development Centre) had led the Taiwanese dental device manufacturers to attend the 9th IDEM Singapore 2016 collectively as Taiwan Excellence National Image Pavilion; the event was held in Singapore between 8th to 10th of April. This exhibition had seen a boost in the promotion of Taiwanese dental devices and international cooperation for the industry, as well as successful buildup of exchanges between the Taiwanese dental device industry and international medical device distributors such as Zuellig, a Singaporean medical group. In other words, the exhibition had paved the way to further expansion in the international market for relevant industries in Taiwan.
Dr, Chih-Lung Lin, Vice President of MIRDC, said that the MIRDC managed to organize seven domestic manufacturers to participate in the exhibition collectively as “Taiwan Excellence National Image Pavilion”, including Sunmax Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Huang Liang Biomedical, Taiwan CareTech Corporation, COHO Biomedical Technolog Co., Ltd., Chuan Liang, Kintech Corporation and Taiwan Implant Technology Company. The exhibition allowed the attendees to directly interact with 8,000 dentists and participating buyers from nearly 70 countries, and engaged in integrated marketing that boosted the synergy effect from taking part in an international event.
Dr. Lin also pointed out that the MIRDC had been proactively integrating and organizing the domestic manufacturers to attend exhibitions collectively, and had achieved growth and performance that were acknowledged by the participants, which further encouraged other domestic manufacturers to join the alliance for exhibition. This year, the attending manufacturers have demonstrated a diverse range of advanced dental device products, including implant handpieces, collagen fillings, correction nails, dental CT, ceramic implants, denture engraving machines and implant guidance systems. By integrating and promoting Taiwanese dental device industry through the national image pavilion, the attending manufacturers have successfully reinforced buyers’ trust and brand image for the products made in Taiwan.
It had been eight years since the MIRDC first started engaging in the medical device market, and the MIRDC will continue to refine the R&D and manufacturing of metal materials, so as to assist the domestic traditional manufacturers in the transition to higher-end product manufacturing. The ultimate aim is to continuously strengthen competitiveness of Taiwanese manufacturers by establishing industry clusters and brand images, as well as expanding the international market share.
