The Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA facilitates collaboration between the MIRDC and Changhua County’s Plumbing Association of Taiwan to develop plumbing industry characteristics and drive the sustainable development of industry cluster. On November 6th (Friday), 2015, under the witness of Wu Ming-Chi, the director of the Industrial Development Bureau, and Legislator Wang Hui-Mei, the two organizations signed a MOU of Creative Plumbing Museum. The two organizations will promote upgrading and transformation of the plumbing industry and establish a Creative Plumbing Museum to become a foundation for the development, innovation, and international marketing of Taiwan intelligent sanitary ware.
The Plumbing Association of Taiwan promotes logo certification mechanism, including certification of functional faucet and toxic substance. These tests can not only eliminate risks to health from heavy metals (lead, cadmium, zinc, copper, etc.) and provide consumers with safety guarantees, promotion by the Plumbing Association of Taiwan and logo certification can also effectively reduce the number of inferior quality products in the market. In the meantime, this generates the effect of improving the overall quality of plumbing products.
Changhua County’s Lugang Town has been known as the “home of faucets.” A localized and comprehensive plumbing industry chain has made Lugang Town into a unique industry cluster. In the future, planned development of the Creative Plumbing Museum can promote local industry characteristics. The promotional function of the museum includes combining the strength of plumbing association, creating an international level product demonstration space, increasing exposure of new innovative products and product added value. The museum can also use the power of the Creative Aesthetic Design Workshop to promote aesthetic boutique design culture. Introduction of reverse engineering analysis and 3D printing technology can stimulate innovative product design concept and implementation technology, which can attract more young designers into the plumbing industry. This can facilitate the cultivation of industry professionals and promote the results of industry product development.
In the future, the Plumbing Industry Development History Hall and Contemporary Life Experience Space in the newly established Creative Plumbing Museum can not only show the public how to DIY install intelligent sanitary ware and allow visitors to experience innovative product functions, but also increase opportunities for business cooperation and exchange, improve produce added value, and raise market competitiveness through regular product and technology demonstration exhibits, where domestic and international architects, designers, and sanitary ware channel vendors can be invited.
