Dr. Chih-lung Lin, vice president of the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) led Taiwan medical makers to participate in the 2014 MEDTEC JAPAN at the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion from April 9th to the 11th in Tokyo, Japan. They promoted cooperation between Taiwan vendors and medical equipment related industries at Hiroshima area to successfully introduce Taiwan vendors to the international market.
Six Taiwan vendors participated in the exhibit, including MEM, Coalition Technology Co., Ltd., Sigma Medical Supplies Corp., Jieh-Ming Plastics Mfg. Co., Ltd., GoldenBridge, and Geon Corporation. Dr. Chih-lung Lin indicated that expanding the scale of “medical equipment technology industry strategic alliance” not only improves exhibit benefits, but can also actively demonstrate Taiwan’s interest in the international medical equipment market.
Taiwan’s medical device industry is following the direction promoted after the dental equipment industry case. After MIRDC successfully promoted medical industry station into the Southern Taiwan Science Park, MIRDC went one step further and used the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion to display the power of Taiwan medical equipment technology and integrated marketing to improve sales performance.
Vendors that are participating in this year’s exhibit come from metal, plastic, precision machining, ceramic, and design fields related to technology application on medical devices. The 2014 MEDTEC JAPAN exhibit is Asia’s largest medical equipment design and manufacturing exhibit. This exhibit concentrated on developments in medical machinery and technology, and was the best platform for reaching the international market.
Dr. Chih-lung Lin stated that MIRDC has actively integrated Taiwan vendors in exhibit participation in recent years. Performance has grown annually and the results have been recognized by vendors. Consequently, willingness to participate in exhibits has risen. MIRDC has crossed into the medical equipment market for seven years now. In addition to using the development and processing advantages of heavy metal materials to assist the transformation of traditional industries and produce high value products, MIRDC has established industry clusters, build brands, and developed international business opportunities and marketing to improve industry competitiveness. MIRDC is using global trend analysis and integration of industry, academia, research, and medical core strengths. We are confident that we have the ability to lead the medical equipment industry and other peripheral industries, and to create great opportunities that can increase the value of Taiwan medical machinery industry.
