The goal of MIRDC

Is to promote the development and upgrading of metals and related industries in the country.

To achieve this goal

The Centre carries out research and development and provides an array of services for technology transfer to the industrial community.

Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) Special Exhibit: Spreading the Seed of Scientific Research and Hope

Come to join us in challenging alignment techniques and experience the dynamic dance of robotic Electric-Techno Neon Gods.

From July 10th to August 31st, 2014 the MIRDC hosted the “Precise Moment - Precision Alignment Technology Application Exhibition” at the National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM) in Kaohsiung. This exhibition displayed a series of research and development results, allowed the public to understand the application of technological research in daily life, and used easy-to-understand technical descriptions to guide students in hands-on play involving science to achieve entertainment and teaching objectives.

On the day of the exhibition opening and press conference (July 10th), the MIRDC Chairman of the Board Huang, Chi-Chuan, together with NSTM curator Chen, Hsun-Hsiang, held a dandelion during the launch ceremony. The flying seeds of the dandelion symbolize the concept and spread of scientific research and hope. This exhibition promoted MIRDC technology, the power of research and development, and the spirit of industry advancement. At the same time, the exhibit demonstrated the important responsibility of inspiring students in science education. The exhibition’s “precise moment” human-machine interaction and experience area displayed precise alignment interactive instruments and guided visitors in understanding the important link between 3C products and touch control panels in daily life. In cooperation with Shay Ye Co., Ltd., robotic Electric-Techno Neon Gods twisted and danced to techno music during the Dynamic Robot Show at scheduled times. This is an innovative method for materializing abstract mechanical principles and for driving student interest towards the robotic industry. From traditional to innovative, from industry to services, MIRDC upholds the idea of guiding domestic metal-related R&D and popularizing science and technology education. By using equipment displays and activities that allow visitors to understand the power of electromechanical automation and integration, MIRDC realistically set a foundation for high-value technological experiences and promoted technological humanities.
