MIRDC and Ota City Industrial Development Association from Tokyo signed an MOU at the MIRDC Kaohsiung headquarters on 9 October, 2014, for the purpose of promoting exchange and business opportunities between Taiwan and Ota City.
MIRDC organizes regular Taiwan-Japan exchange programs each year, and many of them have been implemented in partnership with Ota City. For instance, last year MIRDC went for a trade show in Ota City to promote seven priority technologies and attended business matching events. This year, a visit by Ota City Industrial Development Association brought Nakano Cutter Limited from Japan for exchange and cooperation with companies in Tainan area. MIDRC also brought to Ota City four companies, including molding tools, fasteners and hardware manufacturers, to attend trade show and business matching event and visit companies with business partnership potential. Such activities have received warm response from companies in Taiwan and Japan alike, who look forward to further such industrial exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.
