MIRDC helps form R&D Alliance for Al-alloy Autobody Panels

In light of the global trend of going for lightweight in the automotive industry, materials and processing techniques of aluminum alloys are becoming a prominent agenda, and autobody panels and related applications are set to experience rapid growth. In order to help Taiwan’s auto industry secure first-mover advantages with early deployment, MIDRC has been commissioned by MOEA to implement the Project for Technological Development and Industrialization of Key Modules for Energy-efficient Electrical Vehicles. On 17 November, 2014, leading companies like auto-parts company Juli, main aluminum supplier C.S. Aluminum, professional aluminum molding tool manufacturer Van Guard Mold, auto-panel maker Fansheng, and car assembler Central Tooling Design were invited to the inauguration ceremony of the R&D Alliance for Al-alloy Autobody Panels at Garden Villa, Kaohsiung. This event also invited international expert Prof. Kenichiro Mori from Japan to meet with the alliance for technical exchange and related discussions.
