Southern Regional Industries Development Office, MOEA stationed at MIRDC to continuously extend services to local industries
To continuously provide the industries in southern Taiwan with the resource, the Southern Regional Industries Development Office, MOEA will station at MIRDC since 2014 to offer its industrial service. The Office will bring the maximum benefit of resource integration in the aspects of policy and industrial promotion as well as industrial marketing. MIRDC highly recognizes the significance of setting office at MIRDC to the industries in southern Taiwan. Mr. Chi-chuan Huang, chairman of MIRDC indicates that MIRDC has designated a professional team to station at the Office, will be fully engaged in industrial consultation and assistance and will enhance the integration of various resources in southern Taiwan in the future.
Mr. Huang said MIRDC has extended its technical and management services to the industries in southern Taiwan since establishment. Based on Kaohsiung, MIRDC expands its service around the island. MIRDC just celebrated its 50-year anniversary on October 19, 2013. It is a true recognition that MIRDC is commissioned to implement the related industrial services under Southern Regional Industries Development Office, MOEA. In the meantime Mr. Huang is highly confident that MIRDC is able to execute the related tasks assigned through the Office. He believes that MIRDC performance for the last 50 years exhibited to the local industries will provide a sufficient backup to the Office. It is understood that MIRDC has drafted three dimensions to carry out industrial services, including connection industrial & economic policies between central and local governments as well as drafting precise industrial strategies through assistance think tank. In terms of industrial promotion, MIRDC will proactively integrate the appropriate R&D or assistance capabilities for the industries in southern Taiwan, such as matching among manufacturers, academic and research sectors as well as assistance to manufacturers in obtaining governmental resources. The most important task for the Office is to demonstrate the achievements of the industries in southern Taiwan, to facilitate a complete presentation of capabilities of local manufacturers and to highlight the characteristics and significance of regional industries.
Mr. Huang points out the general public is not familiar with many regional industries as their visibility is not like high technology industry, yet these regional industries impose a critical influence on national economy. Not to mention that many MIT brands are important makers with international reputation. Since major constructions around Kaohsiung Harbor will be completed in the upcoming years, Mr. Huang thinks southern region should reinforce the integration and grasp the resource advantages of various counties and cities. With full effort, MIRDC will execute the promotion mission of Southern Regional Industries Development Office with hope of leading to prosperous development for the industries in southern Taiwan.
