The 3rd Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show is unveiled on April 10, 2013 to exhibit the recent development of EV industry. Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium (TARC) demonstrates the EV R&D achievements with a variety of local manufacturers, including Luxgen, Delta, E-one Moli, Amita Technologies, Chroma ATE and TECO in the industries to cooperate in the related EV components. With technology transfer or establishment of R&D alliance, TARC increases overall performance of EV industry.
Mr. Chiun-neng Lin, Director General of Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA, personally attended the opening ceremony of TARC and he indicated that the exhibition has gradually demonstrated the achievements of EV industry. Especially TARC serves as a platform to integrate the resources from public and private sectors as well as R&D institutes to enhance industrial competitiveness.
TARC combines MIRDC, ITRI, CSIST, ARTC and HAITEC to jointly inject R&D resources for the EV industry and to establish industrial system in Taiwan. TARC demonstrates the newly developed technologies such as cell-module, automobile chassis design, chassis K&C testing system, gear box, AC system, electric dashboard, independent rear suspension module, charging control, leakage detection etc. Dr. Ho-chung Fu, president of MIRDC and also acts as TARC chairman, pointed out the three important segments of EV development, such as power system, electric module and lightweight structure. TARC pavilion is focused on technology industrialization, energy storage & saving, intelligent innovation and service platform.
The world top five motor manufacturer, TECO, signed a cooperation memorandum with TARC member ITRI, to work on motor R&D for electric vehicles.
