The goal of MIRDC

Is to promote the development and upgrading of metals and related industries in the country.

To achieve this goal

The Centre carries out research and development and provides an array of services for technology transfer to the industrial community.

Dr. Ho-chung Fu was installed as chairman of TARC

Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA integrated R&D resources to establish Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium (TARC) in 2005. New chairman, Dr. Ho-chung Fu, president of MIRDC was installed in 2012.

Currently TARC is jointly composed of MIRDC, Mechanical & Systems Research Laboratories, ITRI, Material Chemical Research Laboratories, ITRI, Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC), Chun-Shan Institute of Science & Technology (CSIST) and Hua-Chuang Automobile Information Technical Center (HAITEC). Led by Dr. Tung-chuan Wu, former TARC Chairman, TARC has held Taiwan Automotive International Forum & Exhibition (TAIFE), international seminars as well as attended international exhibitions in the form of Taiwan Theme Pavilion to promote Taiwan automotive technical capabilities to North American market. Dr. Jamie C. Hsu, MOEA consultant, witnessed the installation ceremony and indicated after Dr. Fu succeeded as chairman, TARC can further generate more international business opportunities for Taiwan and promote Taiwan automotive makers enter international supply chain.

Dr. Fu said that he will maintain the existing excellent tradition and will be dedicated to integrating the resources to enhance technical planning and to provide Taiwan automotive industry with development direction. He further indicated that the exchanging activities intend to connect Taiwan automotive industry to global market, attract more international procurement and create collaborations of automotive industry.
