History

Year Month Subject
1998 10 “The establishing and promotion of testing technology on metal products” project has been honored by Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) of Ministry of Economic Affairs as one of the excellent Technology Development Programs of the year.
1996 05 MIRDC has been authorized by CAPA in the United States to act as an agent to execute metal automobile parts measurements and testing in Taiwan for exporting automobile parts to the United States.
1993 05 In 1993, the centre changed its title from Metal Industries Development Centre (MIDC) to Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) to reflect the growing commitment to research and took “Foresight, Teamwork, Innovation, Excellence and Service” as its motto.
1976 05 The Taichung Branch was set up to provide more efficient services to machinery and machine tool industries in central Taiwan.
1969 03 The Metal Industries Research Institute was established with the assistant of MIDC and in 1973 it reorganized into Materials Research Laboratories of Industrial Technology Research Institute.
1963 10 Metal Industries Development Centre (MIDC) was established in October 1963 with the headquarter in Kaohsiung.
