MIRDC launched a project for value creation and innovation of the traditional sectors, which aims to introduce the success experiences of STARS to central and northern Taiwan; to bring together R&D capacities from MIRDC, AITI, FIRDI, TTRI, ARTC and III to guide traditional industries toward technical integration and development; to promote the creation of industrial clusters and R&D alliances; and to mobilize SMEs in the industrial chain with large companies (e.g. upstream major suppliers, downstream major system players) leading the way toward cooperation of R&D and market expansion, thereby promoting equilibrium and economic development at regional level. Features of this project include promoting value innovation and integration for the industry, promoting alliance for industrial value-added innovation and industrial cluster and promoting the industrial value chain through mobilizing dominant players, and expanding support for traditional sectors and assisting industrial upgrading and transformation. |

2009 Exhibition on Outcomes of Technical Assistance to Medical Device and Health Care Industries - -
Commissioned by MOEA IDB, organized by MIRDC and co-organized by Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Technology and Development Center, Plastics Industry Development Center, and Footwear and Recreation Technology Research Institute, this exhibition was held at Taipei International Convention Center to showcase the success stories of this program that has guided a number of companies through the process of business transformation and upgrade and to inform the industry of the government’s efforts in supporting the industry with a vision of developing Taiwan into a global stronghold of Medical Devices under the joint efforts of the government, the industry and the academia.

2009 Exhibition on Southern Taiwan Alliance of Researchers and Scholars - -
Commissioned by MOEA DOIT and held at National Science and Technology Museum, this exhibition featured a combination of exhibition, forum, seminar and speech. A total of 20 STARS R&D projects and 36 cases developed under partnerships with the industry were on display at a 4-day exhibition that had attracted several thousand visits from the industry and the academia.

2009 International Summit Forum on Medical Device Industry
- - Commissioned by MOEA Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) and organized by MIRDC at NTUH International Convention Center currently with the 2009 MEDIPHAR TAIPEI fair, this program was attended by major companies from Asia, Europe, America and Australia, who have come for discussions and exchanges on innovative designs of medical devices, deployment of international marketing, and the latest trends in the industry, so as to facilitate the learning process of the local industry while promoting international exchanges.

Green Energy Intelligent Vehicle Exhibition - -
Commissioned by MOEA DOIT and organized by Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium at NTUH International Convention Center, this exhibition featured carbon reduction and energy-saving along with intelligent driving experience. On display was JinGong No. 1, the concept electrical car that has been developed by MIRDC and has exemplified the MIDRC R&D efforts for the automotive industry accumulated over the years, so as to inform the public of the diverse, innovative technical modules available for the next generation automobiles.

Charity for Post-flood Relief - -
After Southern Taiwan was devastated by Typhoon Morakot, MIRDC Chairman visited Kaohsiung City Government and Pingtung County Government and donated NTD3 million and NTD2 million respectively in a gesture of care and compassion on behalf of all MIRDC members. Furthermore, MIRDC organized a consulting team to provide post-flood restoration services to affected industries and a immediate technical guidance for SMEs project to offer technical support to affected companies in the aspects of machinery repairs, recalibration and the restoration of production capacity.

DOIT Technology Development Program Awards Ceremony 2009 - -
Under the theme of “Intelligent Taiwan Navigates with Technology,” this event that combines exhibition and awards ceremony took place in Kaohsiung Software Park to showcase outstanding performance of these programs. MOEA Administrative Deputy Minister was present as honorary chair and MIRDC Chairman as a distinguished guest. The Program for Developing Equipment and Technologies for Flat Screen Monitor (represented by MIRDC Vice CEO Lin Zhi-ling) and the Southern Taiwan Alliance of Researchers and Scholars (represented by MIRDC Vice CEO Fu Zhong-he) undertaken by MIRDC were recipients of Outstanding Program Award and Traditional Industry Value Creation Award respectively.

The 5th Taiwan Automotive International Forum and Exhibition - -
Held at NTUH International Center and supervised by MOEA, this event was organized Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium. This year’s forum featured Electrical Vehicle as the main theme to promote international cooperation and explore business opportunities for Taiwan companies by exchanging views of R&D and applications in the aspects of EV technologies and business operations.
