MIRDC received an Outstanding Contribution to the Mechanical Industry Award from the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME). With its long-term devotion to R&D in metal industries, in recent years MIRDC had been recognized by the government for its work in facilitating industrial upgrading and transformation. Its services had expanded from the traditional industries to cover high-tech sectors like medical devices, electrical vehicles, photovoltaic semi-conductors, and this CSME award that came in Nov. 2010 was another due recognition of MIRDC’s achievements. |

MIRDC hosted the 5th Pan-Yellow Sea Rim Industrial Symposium on Magnesium Alloys (YSR5) on Nov. 17, 2010, concurrently with the Final Round of the 2010 Light Metal Awards Competition. A total of 69 papers from Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan were presented at YSR5, and winners of YSR5 poster presentations were announced at a joint award ceremony along with those winners of the 2010 Light Metal Awards Competition. |
