2014 10 MIRDC and Tatung company signed an MOU on long-term technical cooperation to promote the development of energy industry and related technologies for smart grid and energy storage systems. Both parties will share their respective R&D experiences and capacities and collaborate to develop technologies for energy storage management, Li-battery safety testing, renewable energy applications and advanced motor applications.
2014 10 On 31 Oct., 2014, MIRDC was officially recognized by Taipei Exchange as its 22nd GISA recommendation agency, making MIRDC the first such NPO agency from South Taiwan. This recognition also underlines the strength of MIRDC as a technology-based NPO that supports unlisted companies that are innovative, creative and of significant potential in line with the government’s policy.
2014 10 MIRDC was commissioned by MOEA to construct the MOEA Traditional Industries Value-adding Center, with the mission of developing traditional industries, and the ground-breaking ceremony was organized on 18 Oct., 2014. Besides the input of MOEA resources, MIRDC will invest NT$46 million for the Phase One construction of buildings and facilities to help complete the planning process. This center will provide four value-adding functions for materials, production processes, products and foundation and specifically focus on “platform for developing new and innovative materials,” “R&D for precision fabrication and processing technologies,” “innovative/energy-saving technologies and other advanced, next-generation manufacturing technologies,” and “ICT applications in traditional industries”.
2014 09 On 4 September, 2014, MIRDC co-hosted the Taiwan-Russia Forum on Technical and Industrial Cooperation for Semiconductor Facilities and Parts/Components Industry. The 70-plus participants of this forum included representatives from CJSC (parts/components), ESTO-Vacuum and ESTO-Integration (biggest Russian company in semiconductor facilities and parts/components)), Laser & Apparatus TM, Design Center KM21 Ltd (IC design), and research institutes like Research and manufacturing complex Technological Centre of National Research University of Electronic Technology and Research Institute of Precision Machine Manufacturing from Russia as well as those from 18 leading Taiwan companies like C Sun MFG, WisePioneer, Marketech International Corp., and Hanbell. Besides matching business opportunities and technological exchanges between Taiwan and Russia, this event also marked the signing of an MOU between MIRDC and SEZ-Zelenograd to promote as priority items the development of complementary technologies and trade cooperation in the semiconductor sector between Taiwan and Russia.
2014 09 The Porous Static-pressure Bearing with Dual Microflow Regulations Technology, first of its kind in the world and developed by the Mold Section of MIRDC Micro/Meso Mechanical Manufacturing R&D Department, won Gold Medal at the 2014 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart.
2014 09 The Rotary Sinus Lifting Device Technology, developed by MIRDC Medical Device R&D Section, won Gold Medal at the 2014 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart.
2014 09 MIRDC signed a cooperation agreement with TNO, the largest national research institute in the Netherlands. MIRDC and TNO will develop cooperation schemes for developing front-end semiconductor equipment and ultra clean vacuum technologies, and then gradually expand their cooperation into other related fields. It is hoped that such a close partnership will significantly enhance the technologies and self-production capabilities of semiconductor and optoelectronic equipment in Taiwan.
2014 08 A research team of MIRDC Electrochemical Machining Laboratory won an Excellent R&D Service Award in the category of MOEA Industrial Innovation Organization Technology Development Projects.
2014 07 MIRDC Toiletry Products Testing and Certification Lab was approved as a California Energy Commission Recognized Certification Body.
2014 07 MIRDC signed an MOU on cooperation with the National Applied Research Laboratories, a strategic partnership that improves effective utilization and integration of technology capacities and resources from both parties to enhance competitiveness of Taiwan companies in medical devices and materials, to add value to the industry, and to strengthen its competitiveness in the international markets.
