In the future, both parties will be jointly engaged in the related activities of semiconductor and medical device industries. On September 16, 2016, MIRDC and CSBC Corporation, Taiwan signed technical cooperation MOU at Kaohsiung International Maritime & Defense Expo 2016. Dr. Ren-yi Lin, chairman of MIRDC and Mr. Wen-Lon Cheng, chairman of CSBC Corporation, Taiwan signed the MOU. MIRDC is responsible for assisting overall technical development for Taiwan and cultivating professional talents for industry. Cooperation with CSBC Corporation, Taiwan aims to conduct R&D on the related technologies of domestic-built and designed warship and to increase the technical capabilities for Taiwan industry that serves as an important step for the policy of domestic-built and designed warship. |

On August 10, 2016, MIRDC facilitated the establishment of “R&D Alliance of Front Compartment Module Suspension Structure for Chassis” to include Chung Ho Cheng, Right Way Industrial Co., Ltd. and Taiwan Golden Quality Motor Technology Co., Ltd. MIRDC assisted Chung Ho Cheng to establish the analytical process of lightweight modularized parts and parts test specification. MIRDC also helped Chung Ho Cheng to have successfully passed the supply chain rating of international auto maker (Russian NAMI). This is the first time to upgrade to collaborative design with auto maker from traditional role of manufacturing per drawing. In addition, MIRDC assisted Chung Ho Cheng become the supplier of NAMI. In the meantime, MIRDC integrated the manufacturers of the other related processes to create production value. |

Sponsored by technology development program of Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA, MIRDC developed “lead free dezincification resistant brass” and obtained UNS number C89710 on July 20, 2016. The UNS number C89710 indicates international ID proof of material quality to decrease R&D cost for manufacturers. When lead free dezincification resistant brass is introduced into plumbing product process, it will extend the tool life of machine tool, reduce the use of lubricant, establish the differentiation technologies, assist Taiwan plumbing industry to explore global market and help Taiwan plumbing industry to step in international supply chain. |

This Centre re-elected its 22th board of directors. New board of directors was composed of 13 directors and 3 supervisors that were recommended by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. On July 4, 2016, the first joint board meeting was held and elected 5 managing directors. Then these 5 managing directors elected Dr. Ren-Yi Lin as chairman for the 22th board of directors. In the meantime, the board meeting approved Professor Chiu-Feng Lin as president for the 22th board of directors. (Tenure of office is from July 4, 2016 to July 3, 2019) |
