2017 06 Natural Products Innovation Laboratories (NPiL) joined “2017 BioTaiwan Exhibition” from June 29 to July 2. NPiL joint exhibition team included 14 makers and 14 booths.
2017 05 In innovating additive manufacturing and developing composite machining, MIRDC and Japan SODICK to jointly established “Metal 3D Printing Joint Laboratory” on May 10, 2017. The opening ceremony aimed to announce a joint Taiwan-Japan effort in driving metal 3D printing application technology by Taiwan makers and speed up industry innovative development. This joint Taiwanese-Japanese platform would be applied to conduct technology exchange for both parties, and turn both parties into great allies through mutual technology industry assistance and mutual benefit. A further technology based exchange between Taiwan and Japan would also be expected.
2017 04 On May 19, 2017, MIRDC, Taiwan Society of Electrical Machining Engineers and Feng Chia University jointly organized “2017 Taiwan Electrical Machining Seminar” to invite Japan’s electro chemical machining experts Professor Wataru Natsu, Professor Yamane Yasuo, Professor Biing-hwa Yan of National Central University and Accuracy & Technology Leading Company to share the experiences on electro chemical machining and Industry 4.0. All participants visited the Accuracy & Technology Leading Company after seminar. There were 118 persons to participate in the seminar.
2017 04 From May 15 22, 2017, MIRDC assisted the Taiwan Welding Society and The Japanese Welding Engineering Society (JWES) to organize the educational training and certificate test of “Welding Engineer Certificate Session” for the first time. The participants passed the test would obtain the certificate that was jointly issued by the Taiwan Welding Society and The Japanese Welding Engineering Society with purpose of promoting the certificate of welding engineers.
2017 04 MIRDC used “intelligent near net forging technology” to assist Mittelstand “Okuma Fishing Tackle” to develop spinning reel that obtained 2017 Taiwan Excellence Award. Discovery Channel interviewed MIRDC about this manufacturing technology.
2017 04 On April 3, 2017, Red Dot Design Award announced that the design of “liposuction needle” obtained 2017 Winner award. The product improves the cost increasing problem as current stainless steel liposuction needle is easily deformed to cause high consumption rate. In addition, the product selects Nitnol to replace part of material of current needle by applying its super-elasticity. Through professional ergonomics design, the needle handle allows an easy grip, slip proof and labor saving that acquire the recognition of international judges.
2017 03 MIRDC and National Taiwan University jointly held World Congress on Micro and Nano Manufacturing 2017(WCMNM) at Garden Villa from March 27 to 30, 2017. There were 114 papers to be presented under 17 sessions and attracted nearly 150 scholars and experts worldwide. The Congress is the first one with focus on micro manufacturing. In addition, the Congress combined three large conferences, including ICOMM of the United States , 4M of Europe and IFMM of Asia to invite three worldwide gurus of micro manufacturing to deliver key note speeches. Then the representatives from different countries visited MIRDC to facilitate the internationalization of R&D capabilities.
2017 03 In line with government’s New Southbound Policy, to facilitate the industrial collaboration with Asia Pacific countries and to proactively work with Taiwan industry for establishing Asia Pacific collaborative platform, MIRDC organized 2017 Taiwan-Indonesia Industrial Collaboration Summit (including five sub-summits, such as vessel, information and communication, food & biotechnology, resource recycling and metal processing) on March 30, 2017. The Summit invited 97 persons from Indonesia (including 39 officials) and 402 persons from Taiwan to facilitate the inter-connections of five industries between Taiwan and Indonesia, one MOU signing between industry associations of Taiwan and Indonesia as well as one MOU signing between think tanks of Taiwan and Indonesia.
2017 01 On January 4, 2017, MIRDC developed a cutting-edge system of the pharmaceutical microsphere manufacturing for embolization to obtain the 5th Foundamental Industrial Technology Award.
2016 12 On December 23, 2016, MIRDC and Japan Quality Assurance Organization(JQA) signed a separate agreement to expand international cooperation for Taiwan home appliance industry. Dr. Ching-ming Chen, Vice President of MIRDC and Mr. Shigeyuki Kondo, Executive Officer of JQA signed the “separate agreements of Electric and Electronic Product Safety and JIS certification collaboration” with hope that close certification collaboration will explore international market and establish the cooperation and exchange of inspection & certification services, test equipment, laboratory management, technical consulting and personnel training for electric and electronic products of both parties.
