2019 09 The Bureau of Energy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs commissioned the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) to implement the Offshore Wind Farm Structure Maintenance and O & M Technology Development Promotion Plan. On the 25th of September 2019, a seminar on "Overseas Wind Farm Structure Maintenance and O &M Practice" was held at the NTUH International Convention Center. The two themes of offshore wind farm innovation technology and local operation and maintenance opportunities were discussed. The seminar invited Fer-mo Enterprise Corp., Adat Technology Co., Ltd., Ai Kwang Tech co., Ltd., Deutsche Windtechnik and Ørsted to share the development status of the latest structural maintenance technology for offshore wind farms. The event attracted nearly 100 domestic and international enterprises to participate.
2019 09 MIRDC’s “The Guide System of Die Adjustment for Screw Forming” won the gold medal in the 2019 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE). The Guide System of Die Adjustment for Screw Forming adopts the optical imaging principles to quickly convert the complex physical information of the holding block to deviatoric stress for mold adjustment. By following the procedures of the guide system to finish the samplings of three screws, the system can obtain the analytical result by identifying the adjustment components of the head height, the length, the X and Y of eccentricity, etc. The mold adjustment time needed for fastener is reduced from 4 hours to 1 hour, and the standard requirement of the product dimension can be precisely and quickly obtained.
2019 09 MIRDC’s High-Nitrogen Low-Nickel Austenite Stainless Steel Alloy and Method for Making the Same won the gold medal in the 2019 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE). The content of nickel is reduced by alloy design and increase of the nitrogen solubility in the production. The method not only improves the high strength of carbon steel but also reduces the corrosion rate and cost of production. The corrosion resistance of this material is enhanced so that it can be used in offshore platforms, offshore facilities, and other related industries.
2019 09 MIRDC’s Preparation of Bio-oil won the bronze medal in the 2019 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE). “Preparation of Bio-oil” is enhanced by obtaining the preheated water in the preheating tank and then injecting it into the hydrothermal liquefaction reactor, so the processing time is greatly shortened. The advantages of time-saving and lower energy consumption can be achieved.
2019 09 The Offshore Wind Training Opening Ceremony was held on September 17th at the MIRDC. The first mobile training facility in Taiwan was launched at the same time to serve as a base for advanced marine engineer training and certification in Asia Pacific region, to enhance the current standard of marine works in Taiwan. It will be a solid support for the development of offshore wind marine works and an effort to promote compliance with the international maritime labor safety and environment requirements.
2019 09 MIRDC and National Cheng Kung University signed the strategic alliance to jointly promote technical development and facilitate industry technical upgrading.
2019 08 "MIRDC, COMTES FHT a.s., CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE, MEDIN a.s., PROSPON, LTD., Aplus Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Digital-Can Tech Co., Ltd. and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital signed an MOU to cooperate the development of small joint implants using additive manufacturing technologies."
2019 08 MIRDC participated in 2019 Discovering Technology Treasures, exclusive for Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry from October 6~8 to attract about 900 visitors.
2019 06 MIRDC obtained the certification under the categories of TAF lath and milling machine products for ISO17065. The Occupation, Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Interior issued the certificate of the type verification body.
2019 06 MIRDC’s laboratories completed the new version compliance to ISO/IEC 172025: machine and equipment (extension and new version compliance to ISO/IEC 172025), electrical appliances safety (increase of new items and new version compliance to ISO/IEC 172025), machine and equipment (civil engineering) (extension and new version compliance to ISO/IEC 172025).
