2024 01 MIRDC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kyushu University Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage in Japan. This collaboration aims to leverage both parties' technical and human resources under the principles of equality, reciprocity, and integrity to accelerate the R&D and application of hydrogen energy-related technologies for mobility platforms.
2023 12 To mark the 60th anniversary of MIRDC, a public tree-planting event was jointly held with I Plant For Life Corporation Aggregate, Kaohsiung, in District 15 of Qieding on December 5, 2023. This event was led by Chairman Ren-Yi Lin and President Yung-Hsiang Lai, accompanied by 20 first-level executives who personally participated in 300 plantings. In addition to driving national policies and assisting industries through the power of scientific research, we can also lead by example and start with greening the environment. Through tree-planting activities, we actively contribute to the earth and carbon reduction efforts, reducing the negative impact of greenhouse gases on the environment.
2023 12 MIRDC's elites of 2023 have been announced. The Technical Achievement Award was presented to the "Electrode Intelligent 3D Variable Curvature Electrochemical Machining System" from the Intelligence and System R&D Service Department and the "Quality Excellence of Every Grain of Screw" from the Industrial Upgrading Service Department. The Industry Pilot Award was awarded to the Metal Processing R&D Department's "Low Carbon and Lean Production for Industry Transformation" and the Industrial Upgrading Service Department's "Fun Learning, Fun Data! Follow Me and Learn".
2023 12 The Plumbing Association of Taiwan awarded MIRDC a certificate of appreciation for its assistance in establishing the "Carbon Reduction Expert Service Team for the Plumbing Industry" in response to the 2050 Net Zero Emissions Policy.
2023 12 MIRDC signed a memorandum of cooperation with Sung Hsing Enterprise Ltd., Taiwan yean Hern Co., Ltd., Bronkhorst Co., Ltd., Yokogawa Co., Ltd., and Yiu Hwa Engineering Co., Ltd. to establish the "Hydrogen Combustion Industrial Application and High-pressure Transmission and Storage Technology Alliance". The alliance aims to promote the establishment of demonstration sites for hydrogen combustion industries and accelerate the development of Taiwan's hydrogen energy industry.
2023 12 MIRDC has signed a letter of intent with Cathay United Bank to establish a sustainable carbon reduction cooperation plan, which aims to guide industries to respond to climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and initiate a low-carbon transformation to strengthen the climate resilience of the industry.
2023 12 In a move to promote domestic production of space technology and composite material components, MIRDC and the Taiwan Space Agency have signed an MOU. The agreement involves strategic collaboration and utilization of core technologies, resources, and facilities, with the aim to develop key composite material design technology and upgrade the low-earth orbit satellite industry in Taiwan, thereby increasing the country's international competitiveness in the space technology industry.
