To achieve this goal

The Centre carries out research and development and provides an array of services for technology transfer to the industrial community.

Signing of Cooperation Agreement between MIRDC and the National Center for High-performance Computing to Establish a CAE Cloud Service Value-added Center

On January 4, 2016, MIRDC and National Center for High-performance Computing signed a cooperation agreement to build a CAE cloud service value-added center oriented toward industrial needs, with the objective of providing R&D innovation and cloud operated application software service to the manufacturing industry. This project was formally initiated with the signing of the agreement by Dr. Ho-chung Fu, president of MIRDC and Mr. Ce-Kuen Shieh, director of National Center for High-performance Computing.

MIRDC realizes that international manufacturing industry develops toward the trends of high reliability and rapid response. As such, MIRDC implements “Reform Traditional Industry-Innovation-Value Added Development Project”, supported by Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA, to promote Taiwan traditional industries remold their industrial design R&D capabilities and innovate service value-added. MIRDC therefore combines its professional engineering design and analysis with high speed computing and information safety control service of National Center for High-performance Computing to build a CAE Cloud Service Value-added Center through cloud technology and cloud computing service. The short-term objective is to promote engineering simulation software cloud service, assist industries in broadly introducing design simulation analytical technology, shorten product design cycle, improve quality and reliability, and lower development cost. Long-term goal is to help Taiwan companies gain a position in the global manufacturing and production supply chain by using the advantages of industrial cloud technology, which can improve the international competitiveness of the entire industry.
On September 17, 2015, the Executive Yuan approved the Taiwan Productivity 4.0 Initiative. The network and computing speed of National Center for High-Performance Computing is able to provide smart services for industry upgrading. The cooperation with MIRDC is based on industry technology. The CAE Cloud Service Value-added Center can be used to facilitate innovation in traditional industries and optimize and add value to industrial structure and environment. In the future, networks can be used to link R&D departments of various industries with laboratories to combine the resources, technologies, and equipment of industries. This in turn can create opportunities for complementary technology and market sharing, promote cross-industry integration and cooperation, and making this a classic example of promoting productivity 4.0 in the manufacturing industry.
