MIRDC Partners with the Performance Review Institute Assisting Manufacturers

On September 10, 2020, Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, Chairman of MIRDC, and David Schutt, CEO of the Performance Review Institute, renewed the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) MOU via video conference to help Taiwan's aerospace technology industry enter the global market and win another victory. The signing was witnessed by the Economic Development Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government, and the manufacturers of the aerospace industry.

NADCAP is professional certification initiated by the Performance Review Institute, while PRI was assembled by heavyweights in the U.S. aerospace and defense industries, DoD, and SAE. MIRDC has been helping PRI in promoting services offered by NADCAP in Taiwan for many years by providing NADCAP courses that meet the special manufacturing process requirements of domestic aviation manufacturers. PRI conducts on-site visits and audits every year for aerospace manufacturers that have obtained NADCAP certification. Trainers must also be retrained regularly to maintain their qualifications and the validity of the certification.

PRI has offices in London, England, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and Beijing, China, to help customers around the world in the certification and auditing of aerospace NADCAP. In Taiwan, PRI relies on MIRDC to promote the NADCAP. This year (2020) is the first time the NADCAP annual meeting is moved to Kaohsiung, showing that the Kaohsiung City Government and MIRDC have been internationally recognized for supporting Kaohsiung's aerospace manufacturing for many years.

Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, Chairman of MIRDC, stated that MIRDC has accumulated profound aerospace certification counseling capabilities since 2014, and the Aerospace Parts Testing Laboratory established by implementing the MOEA's project is certified by the NADCAP for materials testing for strict inspection and certification of domestic aerospace components and products. Although affected by COVID-19 this year, the growth of the aerospace industry has never stalled. MIRDC continues to work with PRI and will continue to assist manufacturers in obtaining NADCAP certification in the future to expedite the domestic aerospace component industry's expansion into global markets.
