MIRDC has completed the evaluation for Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) towards their concerns about public transportation safety, service quality, and occupation and health. The company has been approved of ISO 45001 Occupation and Health Management System Evaluation in March, and the certification granting ceremony had been held on Apr. 20th. Dr. Ren-Yi Lin, the chairman of MIRDC, personally presented the ISO 45001 certificate to Mr. Chih-Tsang Shen, the general manager of TRTC. Such certification is an acknowledgement to their compliance of international occupation safety and health management system, as well as their persistence and efforts to the work field.

Dr. Ren-Yi Lin stated that the ISO 45001 certificate not only indicated their recognition towards the idea of international occupation safety and health management system and their continuous improvement, but also emphasized their determination for a better safety and a good health of their colleagues.

The approval of ISO 45001 certification is the first step towards occupation safety and health. It is hoped to drive the concern of other public transit companies, aiming at enhancing public transportation safety and service quality. It is expected that the authentication of Taipei Metropolitan Area Circular Line System in the next year would bring another international model for domestic and foreign transit companies.
