MIRDC Allied With Two Japanese Associations to Develop the Semiconductor Electronics Market

Cooperation between Taiwan and Japan has reached a new level. The Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC) and the Taiwan Electronic Equipment Industry Association (TEEIA) have signed a multi-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on December 12 with Japan’s Kumamoto Industrial Federation and the Japan Semiconductor Industry Promotion Society. In the presence of members of the Kumamoto Prefecture, including Adachi Kuninori, President of the Kumamoto Industrial Federation, Koga Hirofumi, Chairman of the International Committee, Onoue Noriaki, Council Member and Secretary-General, Tso-ching Wang, Executive Director of TEEIA, Nobuki Murayama, Chairman of the Japan Semiconductor Industry Promotion Society, and Ren-Yi Lin, Chairman of the MIRDC, the MOU was jointly signed and will facilitate mutual benefit and collaboration for the industries of both Taiwan and Japan.
MIRDC’s Chairman Ren-Yi Lin stated that MIRDC has been playing a key role in Taiwan’s industries by assisting manufacturers in upgrading their technologies. In recent years, the MIRDC has continued to contribute its excellent R&D technology to proactively explore international cooperation. Since Japan is equipped with vast R&D capabilities in metal processing and material technologies, the MIRDC is focused on establishing profound and substantial exchanges and cooperation with various Japanese organizations. It is hoped that the four-party alliance established through this MOU can facilitate mutual assistance and benefit for Taiwan and Japan in the technology industry and create a solid alliance. In the future, both Taiwan and Japan will use their technological strengths to complement each other and jointly expand the markets for both sides.
Adachi Kuninori, President of the Kumamoto Industrial Federation, and Nobuki Murayama, Chairman of Japan Semiconductor Industry Promotion Society separately pointed out that this alliance between Taiwan and Japan is the best example of partnership between the two sides; especially in the field of metal processing, where the MIRDC has long had a solid foundation and technical capability. In recent years, the Taiwan-Japan partnership has extended from the traditional fastener manufacturing and machinery and equipment manufacturing industries to the medical device industry, energy industry, optoelectronics, and other new sectors. The Japanese side, therefore, hopes to establish a cooperation platform through the signing of this MOU to facilitate further exchanges between the industries on both sides.
