2023 10 From October 31 to November 2, 2023, the ISO/IEC 17065-accredited product certification PC011 at MIRDC, responsible for Offshore Wind Farm Project Verification and Energy Storage System Project Verification, underwent a headquarters supervisory audit and maintained both professional verification qualifications.
2023 10 As TAF-appointed laboratories for 5G Smart Pole testing, the Mechanical Testing Laboratory (Certification No. 0099), Electrical Safety Laboratory (Certification No. 1090), and Chemical Testing Laboratory (Certification No. 0195) of MIRDC have been designated.
2023 10 On October 20, 2023, MIRDC celebrated its 60th anniversary at the headquarters in Nanzih, Kaohsiung. Many honorable guests attended, including Senior Advisor to the President Jung -Chin Shen, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Chuan-Neng Lin, Members of the Legislative Yuan Tai-hua Lin, Kaohsiung City Mayor Chi-Mai Chen, and many representatives from various industry, government, academia, and R&D institutes. MIRDC is an R&D institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Over the past 60 years, from its establishment to its development, MIRDC has been continuously organized through dynamic organization to make it more capable of innovative R&D and services. In the past decade, the scope of MIRDC's R&D and services has gradually expanded from traditional metal processing to emerging industries such as electric vehicles, wind power generation, optoelectronic semiconductor equipment, circular economy, national defense, and aerospace. In the future, MIRDC will continue to promote the industry to accelerate towards high value. The advancement of globalization will once again drive new growth in Taiwan's economy and industry.
2023 10 MIRDC held the founding meeting of the "Medical Equipment CDMO Surface Treatment Technology" Alliance at the Luzhu Science Park in Kaohsiung. MIRDC linked spinal implant medical device companies BAUI Biotech Co., Ltd. and J.O. Corporation., micro intraoperative medical device company Clearmind Biomedical Inc., orthopedic medical device company Hung Chun Bio-S Co., Ltd., dental medical device companies Taiwan Implant Technology Co., Ltd., Huang Liang Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd., surface treatment company Dexnano Chemicals Technology Co., Ltd. and other domestic industries and research institutes jointly organized and established the alliance. It is expected that the interdisciplinary integration within the industry to establish breakthrough surface treatment technology in our country. This initiative aims to enhance the capacities of Taiwan's medical device companies in building surface treatment technology and OEM trial production and mass production.
2023 10 MIRDC, together with the Taiwan Society of Electrical Machining Engineers, National Tsing Hua University, and National Central University, jointly held the "2023 Taiwan Electrical Discharge Machining International Seminar". Scholars from various countries were invited to participate in academic discussions, and an MOU was signed to strengthen the exchange of high-value-added product micro-machining technologies.
2023 09 MIRDC is executing the establishment of the "Energy Storage System Safety Testing Laboratory" in the Tongluo Science Park in Miaoli. A beam-raising ceremony was held on 19th September. Han-Chang Hsieh, Acting Director of the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, MOEA, Ren-Yi Lin, Chairman of MIRDC, Chun-Chieh Wang, Vice President of the MIRDC, Shu-Chu Chen, Deputy Director of Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, NSTC, and other guests participated in the ceremony, marking the commencement of a new chapter in green energy construction. The "Energy Storage System Safety Testing Laboratory" will become the largest energy storage system safety testing laboratory in Taiwan. This laboratory is positioned as a "Standard National Energy Storage Testing Laboratory". Its type and combustion test capability planning scale is second only to Japan's "National LABoratory for Advanced Energy Storage Technologies, NLAB", and it will be the second largest in the world.
2023 09 MIRDC was commissioned by the Ocean Affairs Council to organize the "APEC Workshop on Regional Marine Debris Management" at National Sun Yat-sen University on September 20th, 2023. The workshop invited benchmarking units with rich experience from overseas, including Plastic Bank from Canada, The Ocean Cleanup from the Netherlands, Tangaroa Blue Foundation from Australia, Refinverse Group from Japan, Manatii Co., Ltd. from Japan, Prepack Thailand from Thailand, and domestic industry players such as Marine Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government, Hwa Meei Optical Co., Ltd., Azure Alliance, MICRO-PC, Haiyong Studio, O2 lab, and Ocean King Fishery Co., Ltd. They presented a variety of solutions for marine debris on both technical and community fronts, as well as cross-regional cooperation, creating new business opportunities.
2023 09 MIRDC, as a co-organizer of the project "Development of Cloud-based Value-added Services for Smart Devices and Systems (2/4)", was awarded the "Excellent Project Award" in the 2023 Technology Development Programs.
2023 09 Chih-Lung Lin, Vice Present of MIRDC awarded the "Individual Contribution Award" in the 2023 Technology Development Programs.
2023 09 "Electrochemical Machining System for Intelligent Electrode with 3D Variable Curvature (EMS)" won the R&D100 Awards.
